Antoine Lacasse

IMG_0440Antoine Lacasse, 24, started racing keelboats at a young age in the national capital region. His passion for offshore sailing kept growing after his first long distance race on Lake Ontario. After sailing on different kinds and sizes of boats in Quebec, Ontario and the US, Antoine competed in the Transat Quebec -Saint-Malo 2012 in the class 40 division. He came back with the desire to do more ocean sailing.

Last summer, Antoine won the Bermuda 1-2 in the Mini 650 division. While sailing as much as he could, Antoine got a university degree in accounting and was skipper of his school’s sailing team. Being part of Canadian Ocean Racing is another step in his sailing career and good training for his next challenge — as he will take on the Transat Quebec-Saint-Malo in 2016.
